Murcotts Driving Excellence

Murcotts had a mix of outdated systems for setting up training programs and managing customer bookings. It allowed them to run programs effectively but required specific knowledge, held by a few key staff. They required a solution that was simple to use and tracked everything about their training programs, from date selection through to name tag printing and everything in between.

Solution

Insightful Systems conducted an extended period of analysis to document the business requirements and gain a firm understanding of where the business was, and where it was heading. After confirmation from Murcotts we commenced development of a custom FileMaker Pro solution that allowed all staff to carry out their day-to-day role in a single system that provided everything they needed - all accessible with a few clicks of the mouse.

The new FileMaker Pro based solution contains the following key features:

• Creation of new training programs and linking of all relevant details; program date(s), allocated trainers, venue and rates.
• Web integration of bookings allowing realtime visibility of available programs and places remaining on the murcotts website.
• Production of printed material directly from the database including; invoices, name tags and completion certificates.
• Export of financial transactions for easy import into formal accounting system.

The Home screen provides staff with a summary of information that is relevant to them; companies and contacts they are working with, recent bookings and tasks due.

The FileMaker Pro web viewer allow staff to access web pages directly within the database, in this case returning driving directions from Google Maps.
