Orange Loft had an existing FileMaker Pro based solution that had been built by a full-time architect, operating as a part time software developer. To take the next step from in-house system to commercially released product they needed to develop a solution that was feature rich yet stable enough to operate reliably for multiple clients located across the globe.

Solution

The development team at Insightful Systems developed a new custom solution from scratch that used all of our clients industry specific knowledge and combined it with our software development experience. This produces a sophisticated office management system, ArchiOffice that is considered the yardstick for the Architectural firms with over 750 installations worldwide. Insightful Systems provide ongoing development and support services for this US based client utilising email, skype and web conferencing facilities to providing that geographic distance is now barrier.

The ArchiOffice system contains the following key features:

• Graphical dashboards allow management to see at a glance how the business is performing.
• Sophisticated task management allows activities to be linked to specific people, measuring performance against forecast completion dates.
• Document management allows creation of new documents based on pre-defined templates. Content from the database means letters are created with the appropriate data already inserted.
• Integration with third party application like iCal, Address Book and Outlook allows synchronisation with handheld devices
