Aldanmark Engineers had an existing Access database for managing jobs and issuing certificates of compliance. While it had originally served them well the business had evolved from a family run operation in a small office to a fully fledged professional company in less than 10 years. This rapid growth, along with new service being provided presented the company with the need to find a solution for their office procedures and storage of information.

Solution

Insightful Systems developed a new custom solution that used AldanMark's existing know-how and combined it with a set of new features to improve productivity. All relevant data from the Access database was converted into the new FileMaker Pro system ensuring continuity of service.

The new FileMaker Pro based solution contains the following key features:

• Document management allowing the creation of word documents with data merged directly from the database, all searchable and launched by a singe click.
• Production of certificates that comply with government requirements, directly in FileMaker Pro.
• Tracking of scheduled onsite inspections across all projects for all team members.

The Home screen provides staff with a list of contacts they are working with, projects they are working on and tasks and appointments that are relevant to them.

The Project Details screen provides an overview of information relevant to a project; specifications, invoicing status and a checklist mechanism that ensures standard procedure is followed.
