FileMaker Pro driven database helps driver training.

Murcotts Driving Excellence, a wholly Australian owned and operated business, was established 40 years ago by motoring journalist Jim Murcott. Since this time Murcotts have offered effective and enjoyable safety solutions to drivers wishing to enhance their driving performance.

Managing Director, Geoff Thomas commented, "We had a mix of outdated systems for setting up our training programs and managing customer bookings. It allowed us to run our programs effectively but required lots of specific knowledge, held by a few key staff. We knew we needed a solution that was simple to use but tracked everything about our training programs from go to whoa."

Some of the key features of the new FileMaker Pro solution include:

• Live display of training program information on the Murcotts website from the internal office database. Booking vacancies are updated in the office and on the website in real-time.
• Exporting of daily financial transactions for easy loading into MYOB accounting software.
• Management of training programs from initial scheduling through to customer booking, payment and program execution. Even the printing of name badges and certificates for program participants!

The Home screen provides staff with a summary of information that is relevant to them; companies and contacts they are working with, recent bookings and tasks due.
