Google Maps Integration Provides Directions for Your Data
The Web Viewer object has provided the ability to display web pages within FileMaker for a long time now. While displaying static web pages in your database isn't always that useful, passing values in the database to third party tools like Google Maps provides you with further insight about your customer data. The Web Viewer also works on FileMaker Go so you can have the same information in the palm of your hand on an iPhone or iPad.
Some of the ways Insightful Systems can integrate Google Maps with your database:
- Display a map detailing all customers, relative to your office or another customers location based on a user specified radius, i.e. show all customers with 30 kms of a specific customer
- Show a map displaying all customers for a specific sales rep or customers that purchased a particular product. Start to see relationships between where your customers are located and what they are buying
- Show driving directions from your office to a customers location or a multi-leg trip, stopping at several customer locations
- Calculate the driving distance between two points, ensuring you allow enough travel time between customer visits or service calls
The features described above can be used to plan sales team visits, service visits, delivery routes or just gain a better understanding of where your customers are located. All with just a few clicks and without leaving your FileMaker database.
